I came across info in the FreeBSD hardware/driver docs that suggested
that the SOHO100 cards are supported by the Etherlink III XL/905
driver. That in my mind I went hunting for Linux info on the XL cards.
Despite the fact that the card isn't mentioned on scyld.com there is a
mention of it in the menuconfig help option in the kernel.
Not quite using the source, but I wish I'd thought of that the other
day.
The Intel NICS are twice the price of these cards, so no guessing for
which ones I bought :-)
So, those of you that are interested in cheapish NICS (Darren?) might
want to look at the 3Com OfficeConnect 10/100 cards. Life time
warranty too. Nice.
As an aside, I'm _very_ impressed with the FreeBSD docs - handbook,
webpages, and especially the manpages.
Cheers.
Baz.
