I second that emotion! KDE Control Centre and Mandrake Control Centre
make life slightly more confusing for the newbie than it needs to be.
IMHO SuSE got it right, with YaST being unmistakably a seperate entity
from the KDE stuff.
One other point to note - previously, setting up a modem internet
connection then setting up my network card screwed the routing, so that
the system tried to use eth0 instead of the modem port for internet
packets. The 8.1 wizard seems to have got over this silliness. Again,
though, this was never a problem with SuSE (or any other distro I tried,
AFAIK).
Now, if only I could afford SuSE 7.3...........
