Apparently the new AMD MP chipset is very nice. All PCI systems do tend to be
faster, and ISA is a pain anyway. Trouble is the high end chipset boards
almost always have lot's o' built in stuff (like the Tyan Thunder K7).
Built in sound and video are good things IMO, because you can always turn
them off with jumpers or BIOS switches, and they are good for testing etc.
RAID controllers shouldn't be too hard to avoid.
