Yep, it's (still) Marcelo Tosatti - works for Conneciva, IIRC.

At one point it look to me that Linus was suggesting it _would_ be
Alan, but don't ask me where I got that idea from.

Slashdot have got an 'interview'[1] thread on the go for him - waiting on
the answers tho.

There does seems to have been a number of  hassles of various sizes in
the past few releases with the kernel (*cough*2.4.11*cough) and then
2.4.12 with the parport hassles.
I so far haven't touched the newer 2.4.14's - I tired of recompiling a
kernel each day, so I've stuck with 2.4.13-ac3.

LWN[2] this week mentions a little bit about the -ac series kernels -
doesn't look like Alan thinks there will be much to do for a little
while after all his changes get merged before 2.4.15.
