Re: [Sheflug] Kernel Install Problem
I've sorted out the previous problem with the kernel panic. I just made sure
that my second section in /etc/lilo.conf was identical to my new one. I had
to add initrd=/boot/initrd.img and append= "hdd=ide-scsi devfs=mount" I think
that's for my cd writer though. Now I've run into another problem though. I
apologise for all this rubbish but here's the last few lines with what I'm
now faced with when I boot into the new kernel (if it helps I think the
problem stems from me using the Reiser FS)...
busybox: unresolved symbol iget4_Rdacfe927
ERROR: /bin/insmod exited abnormally
Mounting /proc filesystem
Creating root device
Mounting root filesystem with flags notail
mount: error 19 mounting reiserfs flags notail
well, retrying without the option flags
mount: error 19 mounting reiserfs
well, retrying read-only without any flag
mount: error 19 mounting reiserfs
pivotroot: pivot_root(/sysroot,/sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
Remounting devfs at correct place if necessary
Freeing unused kernel memory: 712k freed
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init = option to kernel.
I know I keep getting these problems but what doesn't kill me can make me
stronger =o)
