        General Discussion:

Bring your computer along. We'll fix it
for you. Also, what's the latest Linux
                        stuff ?

                              7 pm. Friday 25th January 2002

A few people were asking about the possibility of holding
another meeting somewhere else at some other time of the month. I
can now announce that the lanlord of the Hillsborough Hotel has
decided that we can use his Blueyonder broadband connection for a few
hours. We will have a 24 port hub. Please make sure that you only
bring your laptop along with you. He doesn't want to see a
workstation.

There is a good selection of food.......

Chestnut Sausages cooked in wine and served with gravy
Sirloin steak - good steaks here
Crispy lemon chicken
Chicken jalfrezi - pretty good as well - served with nan bread
Vegetable curry
there's another vegetarian dish but couldn't find out what it was.

All of the above have a good selection of fresh vegetables - not the
tinned variety.  Cost of each one is £5 or less.  There are also some
really amazing puddings to follow and tea and coffee for those who
don't like to be sociable. For the place to go to ...

                            http://www.hillsboroughhotel.com

Good selection of traditional British beers as well as Belgian, Dutch
and German.  Good range of wines and Scottish malts and blends.
There's a non-smoking room and sometimes they have folk music.  The
tram stops just across the road. If you come to Sheffield on the
train the tram stops just next to the station.

If you want to you can even stop overnight at a cost of £30 which
includes a huge breakfast. The rooms are excellent. There is a lock
up garage for your car.
