[Sheflug] Different USB woes.

Hello, me again. One problem with the USB I had, was that the connecting
cable was not pluged into the right pins, but now I've bent a pin I have the
box recognising devices. So I went to get a SmartMedia reader, a Memorex one.
The usb Mass storage driver claims it as its own but I cant seem to mount the
card.

Having tried
cfdisk /dev/sdb
cfdisk /dev/sdb1
and getting an error (Cannot open disk drive)
even though I know its mapped there

>scsi_info /dev/sdb
SCSI_ID="0,0,1"
MODEL="Direct-A "
FW_REV="SCSI"

>cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
  Vendor: CyberDrv Model: CW038D CD-R/RW   Rev: 100C
  Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
  Vendor: Memorex Model: Reader 3 Rev:
  Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 03
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 01
  Vendor: Memorex Model: Reader 3 Rev:
  Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 03

The card seems to work fine in the Camera. I am getting worrying things from
the debug messages;

sdb : READ CAPACITY failed.
sdb : status = 1, message = 00, host = 0, driver = 08
Info fld=0xa00 (nonstd), Current sd00:00: sense key Not Ready

Note the second to last line. "Not Ready"

What Im thinking is that there is a problem with the reader. It manages to
identify itself and the driver seems to think it can handle the reader, but I
suspect its also possible that the reader isn't working properly. That is I
suspect it cannot read the memory card. There is a red light below it which
I've only ever seem on during boot up.

Whats going on please.

Any help appreiciated.

Cheers
