MS Exchange sends it around just fine. 'nuf said :)

On further inspection, it seems that sendmail correctly splits the line
at 998 characters when forwarding to other servers, but when delivering
to a local mailbox, truncates to 2k.

Sounds like it could be a procmail problem, possibly?
