libm.so.5 is the maths library for libc 5, whose filename is libc.so.5. I
don't know what distribution you run, but you'll need to look for the libc5
binary libraries (or libc5 compatability libs or however they're described).
In Slackware 8, these can be found in the pasture/libc5-attic directory of
the Extra CD. As for other dists, I can't say :)
