Thanks, the data is recovered now! In a bit more detail:
1.- Use cdrecord (or even xcdroast), and read the tracks to a file
2.- Mount the track using the loopback device
3.- Now you can access any files in the mounted loopback FS
Easy peasy, I guess, but I did have a laaaaarge number of files,
and thought I was going to lose them. They came from the IEEE journals
server, which was allowing everyone to download all sorts of papers
:-))))
