I didn't like the idea of patching the kernel for the Alacatel 
drivers so I used the Benoit drivers which proved to be better and 
easier to use and install.  Best to make your own choice here.

worked fine for me and fits in more with the idea of free software.  
Something that Alacatel talk about but I'm not sure that they support 
such a concept.
