"A cron job" :) Unfortuantly though I don't know freesco, so can't help you 
there...

But there is a possibly more lo-tech solution, but it requires your modem to 
be external (and please don't laugh - this is a serious solution!). Simply 
get a 7 day timeclock (digital or analogue, though digital's do give better 
resolution; even 24hr analogue ones are a bugger to get perfectly accurate) 
plug that into wall socket, and then plug the modem power into that :)
