If I can't send a public announcement for a monthly meeting to a 
public list that I put together myself then what can I do ?  No 
announcement equals no meeting and therefore no point in having a 
legal system that allows me to send e-mail anywhere at all.

Mind you... looking at the data protection act and the RIP bill my 
own understanding of the law is that no one is allowed to send e-mail 
to anyone else anyway.
