I'm afraid to say this but my winmodem has got the
better of me. After downloading drivers, installing them trying 23 AT
commands I still cannot get linux to recognize my HSP56 modem riser. I
didn't think there would be a big difference between the HSP56 micromodem and
the HSP56 MR. One web page told me drivers might be available for the MR
but I have yet to find one.
So I am giving in, instead I am going to buy a new
modem. When I am looking for an internal modem....is there anything in
particular I should be looking for? Compatibility wise I mean. Do I
stay clear of software modems?
