Thought about this one some more and what I'd like to do is backup 
from /home/mydocuments to somewhere like /home/mybackup and then 
produce a tape archive and then run cdrecord to drop the whole thing 
onto a CD when I'm not around.

Can anyone add to the above and suggest a useful script that I can 
run from /etc/crontab once a day ?  It's a Vixie cron.
