Yes, this could be a positive aspect, especially following the Club UK Online
seminar :)

Surely it should be a centre of excellence for IT skills, so as not to be as
zealotous as the educational institutions in the area?

Of course, it would primarily use Linux, for various technical reasons
(cheapness, modularity, ease of disassembly, etc), but a college which
teaches IT skills rather than Winblows skills would be great.

Too many times I have seen questions like 'What is a FQDN?' with answers
like 'it is a name used to communicate with other Windows machines, and the
primary domain controller. It is sometimes called the NETBIOS name' marked as
correct!! (that'd be once, but once too many)

Yes, this is a pet peeve of mine :)
