Cut the Samba any other thought of your gateway as a server. You are
helping the hacker/cracker to get into your systems. Remember to use
iptables or ipchains. Make sure you use all the latest updates.

Your gateway box will accept connections from any internal computer.
All you have to do is make sure that routing of packets through your
gateway box is done in the right way.

Location of your internal machines doesn't matter. As long as you
remember to plug in the network cable and configure the network cards
:)

Thanks
