The GNU Hurd has been going to be ready 'real soon new' & 'by the end of
the year' for the last 7 or 8 years. As a project it's been in development
since 1990ish, making it older than Linux. Considering the timescale
there's not a lot to show for it.

I really hope it's good, but don't hold your breath.
