[Sheflug] Mandrake installation
Well, it was going brilliant, the partition manager worked, everything,
until i got to making a new user, it wouldnt let me type anything, I changed
the keyboard layout etc but it still didnt work, so i just clicked on OK and
it went on installing everything. Everything worked until it came to booting
up linux and putting the username in, i could type, but as i had created no
user i couldnt get in.
I have a USB mouse and keyboard, the mouse works in the install but not the
keyboard.Any suggestions? I dont have a ps2 keyboard but if anyone could
bring one to the meeting on saturday that would be great as i'm going to
bring my comp.
But apart from that Mandrake is very easy to install, the thing I was really
worried about was the partitioning, i couldnt partition my HD using
Partition magic as the disks were dodgy but Diskdrake worked fine (as im
writing this e-mail now using my newly partitioned drive).
Thanks for any help

P.s. I just tried text install and the keyboard didnt work in that, I also
logged into Linux as 'root' which allowed me to create a user but no
password, it wont let me set a new password or enter the new password (it
just doesnt type anything) but I can type in a username?
If i set the username to have no password, it says login incorrect.
Also at the meeting will there be any monitors, as I have to get there by
bus so I can't bring mine.
