[Sheflug] Network

Hi,

I've started setting up my newtwork now and this, I imagine, is the first of
a few posts of problems =o) I've set up a smoothwall box and got my linux
machine connected to it no problem. I've even got the windows partition on
this machine connecting through smoothwall. I've now come to add my laptop to
the network but I have problems. My network is set up as below...

laptop (192.168.0.3) - main machine (192.168.0.1) - firewall (192.168.0.2)

The firewall and the main machine can ping each other fine and both recognise
each other. I've just added the laptop to the network today, set up the IP
and it's running on the same gateway (255.255.255.0) as the rest. It's
running windows XP and the icon saying that it is connected to the network
shows in the status bar. But when I try and ping either 192.168.0.2 or
192.168.0.1 no packets get returned. Likewise when I ping 192.168.0.3 from
the main machine or the smoothwall box. Am I doing anything wrong? I've just
installed Slackware 8 on the laptop but it doesn't detect my PCMCIA network
card so I can't test it from linux. I might install Mandrake because that
seems to detect everything despite how crap it is =o)
