Sorry, but I'll have to put the other side of the argument.

We have a 2mb pipe here from Plusnet and have had it for a number of years.
It's fine. Most of the problems there have been over the past few months
have been further upstream from Plusnet - predominantly BT (surprise,
surprise).

Also, I've got a Plusnet ADSL line at home - fixed IP, 512k with a frog
which I've plugged into a Vigor 2200USB router / firewall which in turn has
a Linux box and a Win2k desktop (both connected via CAT5)and two laptops
(one Win2k and one XP home) connected via a Netgear wireless AP.

I'm delighted with my setup and wouldn't swap.

Heck, if I had to pay for my ADSL, I would (it's currently financed by my
employers - lucky ol' me!).
