[Sheflug] Data recovery

Hi,

I've been lumbered with the job of trying to recover some data from a hard
drive and I'm struggling...
The drive was on a machine running windowsNT as a slave drive and is SCSI. I
don't have a machine with NT on it so I have been trying to get at it with
Linux and, after trying three different computers - none of which I could
get to recognise the SCSI, I have finally managed to get one to see the
drive. However, when I try to mount it I just keep getting 'unrecognised
filesystem' errors. The problem is, of course, that I don't know what
filesystem it is likely to have (the other hard drive in the machine which
had the NT program on was a FAT16 system and I can OK).
Can anyone give me any leads or advice on this please and is ntfs, which I
have tried but it also rejected by linux, a separate module which needs
compiling into the kernel?
Thanks,

Best wishes,
Ian
