I think that you should be alright as you are not using the Citrix
features you may still need the Client licence for NT.

Have a look at http://www.rdesktop.org/ for a cheaper client side
alternative. I have not tried it but it is supposed to be a RDP client
for Linux to allow you to connect to NT terminal server.
