I think you'll find that whether you use RDP, IP or IPX to connect to the NT4
terminal server you'll consume licenses.
When W2K came out MS did a deal with Citrix (hands around their throat type
of deal) whereby MS could include some of the Citrix technology to provide
W2K Terminal Services. If you were to use this then you wouldn't be using any
Citrix licenses indeed you wouldn't even need Metaframe installed. Then MS
announced you didn't need any extra cals for it either .... can't remember
them ever being this generous before : - ))))
Our Co run 80+ Citrix servers mostly NT4 Metaframe 1.8 and they are damnned
expensive to license : - )))
I've been trying to champion "OS alternatives" but it's damnned hard work : -
