He considers Bill Gates to be his own personal nemesis and is, generally 
speaking, probably more anti-Micro$oft than all you lot put together. He is 
also a little impetuous at times and I gather that IE was taking an age to 
load a web site he wanted to visit this morning so that kind of made the 
decision easier for him  ;-)

Thanks to everyone who replied. I shall be paying a visit to OpenOffice.org 
as my previous experiences with SO 5 pointsomething was that it was good 
but ran slower than a three legged dog on our trailing-edge technology. 
Besides, he's looking to cut the costs of and simplify licensing so it 
doesn't make a lot of sense to go with SO.
