I use it every day of the week from home. Can only get a BT line
nothing else.
My answer would be that it is and it isn't easy to set up. I found
that the BT Speedway cards that you can get from Ebay for £10 work
fine. With SuSE Linux they just drop straight in. Some of the other
distributions should work fine as well.
The other thing that you might want to think about is that now that I
have BT ISDN I can't get rid of it. I'm locked in by BT who won't do
anything to help me to change over. When my ISDN line was put in the
local exchange was said to be 3.5km away. When I asked for a
broadband connection some weeks ago BT suddenly decided that my local
exchange was 7.5km away. It hasn't moved. It's still just five
minutes walk along the road.
Broadband is easier to install than ISDN and it's cheaper. But, ISDN
is excellent once you are stuck with it. Only thing you can't do is
download a complete CD and try it out.
