[Sheflug] DHCP lease renewals
Hi all,
Sgrunt, we had a network outage today, and my server lost its
network connection, which it gets from the university through DHCP.
The lease is renewed every 10 1/2 hours, but because of the network
outage, the computer was not respoding to pings and so on. Since I do
remote admin (ssh and yoú're in), I couldn't invoke pump manually, and
I had to reset the machine and restart it, ruining my ever-growing
netcraft profile

Apart from renewing the pump lease every 15 minutes or so
automatically (or waiting for 10 1/2 hours), is there a way of dealing
with this automatically? I know of things like heartbeat, but they
seem to be far too advanced to deal with these little annoyances.
Cheers,
José
