I couldn't agree more. I found that the latest distro's are excellent and far
superior to what they were a few years (I've managed to try out redhat 6.1
and an earlier mandrake).
On the topic of going back to windows, I also nearly did, but found
installing an uptodate distro (slackware 8.1) solved most of my problems I
had encountered....except sound. But under redhat 7.2 my sound worked fine.
On a note of there being no drivers, I've found that alot of the big names
do supply drivers (Or modules) for there equipment to work under linux (My
internal modem runs under a intel driver.......which I had the greatest
problem getting to work in the beginning).
On another note, I've come accross a great picture of the penguin drinking a
carton of "Windows xp, we suck more!". If anyone would like a look e-mail me
offline...I plan on using it as my desktop.
Cheers
Doug
