Re: [Sheflug] Questions about ftp scp, and uploading files ingeneral
I've started using rsync and it is brilliant but I can't get it to work
with a remote connection. It may be version incompatibilities but I
find it odd that the command can't be found as rsync is clearly
installed remotely (on a sparc/solaris machine) and I would have thought
that rsync could synchronise with earlier versions of itself. Here is
what I tried and what failed:
local /home/me: rsync -e ssh -av tmp nospam [at] remote.path.uk:~/tmp
me@remote.path.uk's password:
rsync: Command not found
unexpected EOF in read_timeout
remote% rsync --version
rsync version 2.3.1 protocol version 20
local /home/me: rsync --version
rsync version 2.4.6 protocol version 24
Any comments gratefully received, Matt.
