Re: [Sheflug] Dell X200 and Redhat 8.0

Dear All,

I have finally got my winmodem to work under linux and I'm emailing this
from my laptop.

I signed up for a pay and go virgin account and it seems to work. Don't
actually know exactly what has made a difference but here is my
wvdial.conf

[Modem0]
Modem = /dev/ttyS15
Baud = 19200
SetVolume = 0
Stupid Mode=1
Dial Command = ATDT
Init1 = ATZ
FlowControl = NOFLOW
[Dialer Defaults]
Username = myusername
Password = mypassword
Phone = 08454550280
Stupid Mode = 1
Inherits = Modem0

It seems to have overwritten /etc/ppp/options with nothing.

I used wvdial to connect.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I'm now going to have another stab at
the firewire CD-RW.
