That's why I tend to make heavy use of footnotes[1] as longasides can be 
shifted out of the way.

This is also where footnotes come in :) [2]

I think the rest has been exhausted regarding sigs though ... I'd have had 
more to add earlier today I think, but not been reading mail... :)

[3] makes them easy to reference as well[4] although they can drag on[5].
[4] see[2]
[5] There is no footnote 5 [6]
[6] ...and this could go forever, so I'll stop here :)
