I second that. I use the SMC Barricade modem/router with built in usb
and ethernet links. This was recommended to me by James on this list.
It's an excellent bit of kit, with an easy setup. It just sits in the
corner keeping me connected, while the other end is plugged into the
switch that all my computers are connected to and that's it. 24/7
connection without a constant whir.
If you go down this route then from dabs.com it was £100 all in I think
(last time I looked).
Best wishes
Neil

I can also absolutely recommend the Barricade range of routers. I have been
using one for a couple of years now and its never faulted once.
The one and only issue Ive ever had with it was due to SMC removing the
loopback facility in one of there firmware upgrades. As soon as I complained
about it, they offered to replace it almost straight away.
They are definitely a good choice!!
Steve.
