Wasn't there a prodigy installer for Woody? There is a package for
PGI that lets you create your own ISO with a graphical installer. In
fact, you can download an image for Woody (I think) from
<http://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/progeny/pgi/>.
At any rate, I think that using Knoppix and installing on to the
hard disk is a far better option :-)
