Don't know about this one. Could be that the apm daemon isn't loading 
properly ?  Might be a kernel module issue of some sort.

Very odd.  Don't know what to make of that.

'adduser root' or try 'useradd root'.  Might sort it out.  Had to do 
this once or twice in the past.

Which reminds me... I must sort out my clock which is doing some odd
