Thanks for the response everyone. I live in Buxton, which probably due to
it's high altitude, seems to have a high damage rate to modems & cordless
phones from lightning.
Regarding the rebooting; If the phone line is unplugged & later plugged back
in, my router doesn't establish a connection unless it is rebooted. Also the
computers connected to the router, lose permission to network link to the
router if the router reboots. Therefore, I have to reboot the computers as
well. Perhaps I have something set up wrong but it appears like a good
security feature?
