I'd also be interested as we may be in line for a whole stack of 2nd user
PCs (for free) to put into our local schools and we want something that is
going to cost the schools nothing (hence avoid any budget red tape), costs
little to support (hopefully Linux won't fall over or age like Windows does)
and provides the same functionality (basic office and web browsing).
However I anticipate the same problems as you, i.e. the adult learners
knowing that to print they use the 5th button from the left and the thought
that the button in OO.org that looks like a printer might just print seems
alien to them. We're still in the running for these PCs and they might go
elsewhere but it will be an interesting project if we get it. I may even
have time to create my own training materials. I'll post more when I have
it.
