I have just looked on the Star Office web site... Under documentation star 
office English collection, you can download a whole set of documents 
including user guide in pdf format.

It should be no trouble to extract some walk throughs and how to's from these. 
The only thing to be careful about is the templates and graphics galleries. 
The ones in star office are far more comprehensive in terms of content (so 
not a problem just something to point out). Other than this there is no 
essential difference between the two..... at the moment.
