[Sheflug] ulimit setting in ETerm under Gnome
Hi all,
I've got a slight problem.
My ulimit is set to 100000 when checking in eterm under gdm/gnome.
It's set to unlimited when logging on from a terminal.
/etc/login.defs has
QUOTAS_ENAB no
When I try to set ulimit manually, this happens:
[maulkin@vivacia:~] $ ulimit
100000
[maulkin@vivacia:~] $ ulimit -f unlimited
-bash: ulimit: file size: cannot modify limit: Operation not permitted
[maulkin@vivacia:~] $ sudo ulimit -f unlimited
sudo: ulimit: command not found
[maulkin@vivacia:~] $ sudo su -
[root@vivacia:~] # ulimit
100000
[root@vivacia:~] # ulimit -f unlimited
[root@vivacia:~] # ulimit
unlimited
[root@vivacia:~] # logout
[maulkin@vivacia:~] $ ulimit
100000
Any ideas on how I can actually get this to be set to unlimited?
Neil
