[Sheflug] Spam filtering

Is it possible to filter spam on our ISPs mail server without first
downloading the mail to our local server?

I want to leave the mail on the remote server so that users can collect it
from outside our network but I want to offer them the service of removing
unwanted email before they see it.

I currently use Mailwasher (for Windoze) on my own PC but want to put
something on the Linux box that will automatically do the same (i.e. use
pattern matching in subject and or message and or senders/recipient address
fields to identify spam) and automatically either delete or quarantine email
for all accounts rather than just my own. Even with Mailwasher the 40+
spams I see each day are becoming a little bothersome.
