[Sheflug] deleting emails in kmail

I'm using kmail 1.5.1 which comes woth suse 8.2. In my previous kmail 
versions, deleting a message, removed it from inbox and put it in the 
trash folder. This was usefull at times if you later decided you 
needed to refer to that message. I would leave the message in trash 
for some time before getting rid of it for ever. In this version of 
kmail, deleting the message comes up with a dialog, do you really 
want to delete and clicking yes does so, without putting it in trash. 
I've looked at settings but I seem to be overlooking something. How 
do I make it use the method that was in the previous kmail versions 
without going through the steps of physically moving it to trash. I 
know it only takes a ten seconds or so to do it but when you may be 
dealing with 20-30 emails, it can take a while.
