AFAIK they restated that their original UNIX source license was perpetual
and that the nature of Solaris meant that it was not affected.

SunOS was a derived work however I believe Solaris is by now a complete
rewrite with very little if any original source code in it.
Of course I would know for certain if they would provide me with a copy
however I have been mailing Sun about getting source for more than a year.

The point is that there is a reasonable installed SPARC Solaris user base
and Sun would probably rather lose a SPARC sale to an Intel box running
Solaris than one running Linux and besides those likely to use Solaris on
Intel are likely to be experienced Solaris Sysadmins anyway.
