Sun has continually paid out money for Unix licences for years and
years; they probably have enough licences to cover themselves. I'm not
sure what you mean about Solaris; Solaris is the SysV OS - SunOS was
BSD-derived.

I thought the rename to Solaris was just a marketing thing (as well as
the assimilation of SysV)? IIRC, Solaris 1.x didn't even exist - it was
a retro-active rename of certain SunOS products.
