[Sheflug] Printing via linux

I'm spec'ing an IT lab for a primary school and I'm considering using a
Linux based print server as the school has had problems with windows based
printing (managing jobs etc). The workstations are most likely to be
windows based due to existing applications they want to use. It would be
nice to put a colour laser printer in to the room but I am limited by
budget. There are laser printers around that would be in budget but they
don't support PCL or PS printing (e.g. Epson Acu C900). Can I print to
printers like these using linux as a print server if the pcs have a windows
driver installed for the printer? (ie not actually printing from linux, just
controlling the jobs (startin stopping q, deleting print jobs, previewing
??, restricting number of print jobs per user etc)

I'm hoping that once we've got the linux server in they might be open to
considering LTSP or similar.
