The Linux box will be running samba, and will appear as a server
that spools the jobs clients send to the parallel porte (well, or USB
these days) that you have associated with one of the shares. The
Windows clients will generate the relevant printer codes and send it
over to the server.
I don't know about administration of the server, but webmin has
been mentioned in this list before.
You can also use the Linux box as a login server for the Windows
machines, but I don't know how that works.
