I've nothing against Maplins but is it the best value place in town to get
hold of PC components from? How do other PC shops compare? I've always
found Maplins bits quite dear. Or is it just that at £10-15 the convenience
is worth the extra £5?
(I'm fortunate that I can order parts through work and also have a fairly
good box of redundant/salvaged bits to draw on in times of need.)

On a completely related plug there is a company next door to us here at the
bottom of Prince of Wales Road called Sheffield IT (please don't abbreviate
it!) who I get most of me new bits and PCs from. They only have an office
at the moment so its best to call first to make sure they are not out
working in schools etc, tel Dan or Chris on 01142531112 or email
chriso [at] sheffieldit.co.uk. They have some very good prices on gear and most
stuff can be got in within a couple of days.
