Re: [Sheflug] Domain Registration

Hi

I've been looking into domain registration, but as ususal the techical info
on the domain reg sites is quite limited. I'm after a domain registration
service that lets me have full control over the domain, so that I can do all
the hosting, mail stuff, subdomains, etc.

I've never registered a domain before, but the sites I've looked at all seem
to have the registration linked in with their own hosting services.

Has anyone done this before and know of a good (cheap!) penguin-friendly
domain registration service.

The cheapest one I could find is www.123-reg.co.uk but maybe I be better off
going with someone like uklinux.net .

http://www.ukreg.com/

The things to watch out for are costs for transferring domains away from a given provider, UK2NET used to be criticised for not making it more obvious.

And you'll be pleased to know most domain registrars are OS agnostic ;)
