[Sheflug] sound file restoration

My mother-in-law has some old audio tapes she would like the tape hiss
removing from and then putting on CD.  Has anyone done this with Linux
before?  If found a product for windows from Pinnacle which is only £20 but
I thought it would be nice to see what there is for Linux before I spend my
dosh.
