Chris, I recorded a couple of tapes that I had onto my harddrive - I've
not bothered to record them to cd yet. I can't actually remember which
program I used to do the recording but I plugged my walkman into the
creative-64 soundcard and used a gnome program to record, which worked
very nicely. Not sure what's available for hiss reduction though, you
might have a check at what processing sox can do on your sounds though.
