[Sheflug] Mandrake Linux 9.2 Problems :)

Upgrade to 9.2 last night, then had to do a fresh install because my cheap
(and tacky) Maplins USB optical cordless mouse (which was OK with 9.1 and
the install screens on 9.2) wouldn't work.  I then spent the rest of the
evening installing the updates over a 56k modem and attempting to get the
machine back into a usable state.

Upside of 9.2

Mandrake update appears to be more stable,  I am on freeserve hometime and
get logged off after two hours, I suspect this was throwing 9.1 update into
a bit of a tiswas, 9.2 update files were not as large, hence no problem.

Downside of 9.2

After reading the Mandrake forums, it seems the "update" feature is at best
flawed, most people having problems.  Considering I had a fresh 9.1
installation, with very little installed, I naively assumed I would not have
any problems. (Hysterical laughter?)

Doesn't install a lot, had to go back in and install manually a load of
missing programs and utils.

The run command no longer appears in the K menu, but got round it by
installing launcher applet.

Can't get Xearth to run, don't no why. Stumped.

Can't get realplayer to run, may be version, think I used V8 last week, but
V9, this week.

Can't get Gaim to run on MSN - work in progess!!
