In *theory*, the command 'fsck' should check just about any filesystem type.
It searches through /etc/fstab for the filesystem type, and then calls
/sbin/fsck.<fstype> to do the dirty work.
On my system (Debian unstable), I have:
/sbin/fsck.cramfs /sbin/fsck.ext3 /sbin/fsck.msdos /sbin/fsck.vfat
/sbin/fsck.ext2 /sbin/fsck.minix /sbin/fsck.nfs
